Applicant Assessor


Trinity School is looking for a part time Assessor to assist our Admissions team.  This role will be responsible for ensuring all documents and assessments are submitted on time.  The assessor will work one-on-one in person with applicants for students applying to Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade. The Assessor will administer grade level assessments (verbal and written) to evaluate readiness as it relates to Trinity’ curriculum. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Gathering and reviewing assessment data
  • Documentation of observations using Google Forms
  • Ensuring all documents and reviews are submitted on time
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of all data and assessments

The Enrollment Management team conducts rolling admissions throughout the year. The priority season is typically December–March, and the postseason application process occurs March–August as spaces are available and at the request of the Director of Enrollment Management.

PROCESS

The person in this role should expect to conduct approximately 100–125 assessments from December to March.  Each would be conducted in person as part of the applicant’s visit to a Trinity classroom. All assessments have been designed by Trinity teachers and the Enrollment Management team to be completed either virtually through Zoom, for out of state or out of country applicants, or in person. The Enrollment Management team works with the assessor to schedule each prospective Lower School student visit. 

  • TK/K assessments account for the majority of assessments and last approximately 30 minutes. One-on-one assessments are conducted during the students’ campus visits. 
  • Assessments for students in grades 1–2 may last 20-30 minutes. 
  • Assessments for students in grades 3–6 may last up to 45 minutes. 
  • The process of evaluating student work and submitting an observation form may take additional time. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A minimum 2 years classroom teaching experience or admissions experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Commitment to Trinity School’s classical, Christian, rich, and unhurried mission

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions 
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible
  • Ability to assess a student’s aptitude necessary for success in a Trinity classroom
  • Ability to work with, encourage, and inspire children across multiple grade levels 
  • Ability to provide insight into developmentally appropriate academic, social, and emotional readiness for Trinity School
  • Motivation to provide detailed observations for the Admission Committees to support the vision and mission of Trinity School

TIME COMMITMENT
This is a part-time, seasonal, hourly position. Approximately 15-20 hours per week from December–March.
