Human Resources Generalist
Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill is seeking a Human Resources Generalist responsible for a broad range of HR-related responsibilities, including, but not limited to, payroll management, benefits and compensation administration, recruitment and selection, employee relations, and records management. The HR Generalist will assist and support leaders in all aspects of people-related matters. The Generalist’s day-to-day priorities and responsibilities will be largely shaped by the ongoing needs of the school.
Duties

Administer all aspects of bi-monthly payroll management.

Administer Trinity's benefits; coordinate annual open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits program.

Work with leadership in the recruitment and retention of faculty and staff.

Assist with the development of compensation models.

Assist with new hire orientation and employee professional development programs.

Administer employee background checks.

Ensure compliance with all government employment regulations; maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.

Maintain employee personnel records.

Conduct exit interviews.

Function as the key subject matter expert for Paycom, Trinity's human resources information system (HRIS).

Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.

Respond to human resources-related inquiries.

Create and distribute internal communications regarding human resource subject matter.

Process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment, assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field
- Understanding of state and federal employment regulations
- Understanding of personnel and compliance records management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- A strong and clear Christian testimony and agreement with the purposes and doctrine of the school
- Strong mission alignment with Trinity

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field
- 3 - 5 years human resources experience; academic institution preferred; independent school experience ideal
- Experience with HRMS/HRIS
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred
